NFL POSITIONS

(In this section I will be describing each "Skilled Position" position)

What is a Skilled Position?

A skilled position is the players on offense who need to display their athleticism and make plays to change the game. (ex. QB (Quarterback) RB (Running Back) WR (Wide receiver) TE (Tight end).

First: Quarterback
This first position is arguably the most important, they are the offense's leader. They line up behind the center, and they also receive the ball from the center's snap. They throw and pass the ball off, and they can also run. (ex. Josh Allen)

Second: Running back

The running back position is also called "RB" they mainly run the ball they can also receive the ball, as well as block. They also must hold on to the ball as they run, like a ball carrier but they especially. (ex. James Cook)

Third: Wide receiver

The wide receiver position is one of the most criticized ones, they sometimes may drop the ball, run the wrong route, or miss a block. But they can also be heroes, making great catches, juking defenders (make them miss a tackle) or even disrupting possible interceptions. (Ex. Stefon Diggs)

Fourth: Tight End

I would explain, the tight end position as, an athletic offensive lineman, they can receive the ball and block, they do much of both. They are a mix of offensive linemen, and wide receiver fit into a heavy running back body. (Ex. Dawson Know, Dalton Kincaid)

 Defensive and Offensive Lineman

(I will be presenting the priorities of Defensive and Offensive Lineman)

First: Defensive Lineman

The priority for the defensive lineman is to defend the run, sack the quarterback, and cover players occasionally. Typically the edge players (left and right of the 2 defensive linemen, cover occasionally and try to defend the pass but can interfere in the run game as well. (ex. Leonard Floyd, AJ Epenesa) The actual position defensive line mainly stops the run but also sacks the passer. (ex. Ed Oliver)

Second: Offensive Lineman

Next, this is the position that lines up opposite the defensive lineman. They try not to allow the defensive lineman to rush the passer, but also block the run and allow the running back to run through their "gap" or holes." These gaps appear by blocking the defensive lineman a certain way like maybe the "OG", offensive guard, and the "OT" blocks to the right, the gap would be right in between the center and the guard.
